Synopsis: When a person holds in a secret, what happens to them? This is the story of one of Hollywood’s most tragic actors, Montgomery Clift. We follow him from his rise to one of Hollywood’s leading men to his heart-breaking downfall. Among the insights are his string of one-night stands with many men and women and how he felt that he wasn’t entitled to love or be loved. This all changes when he steps foot on the set of “A Place in the Sun” and he meets his soul mate in the form of Elizabeth Taylor. They strike up a great friendship and it is through her that he begins to let go of some of his mental baggage. Clift meets Ben Bagley and falls in love with him. One night though changes the coarse of all three characters lives when Clift gets into an automobile accident and Taylor has to think quick to save her dying friend. Taylor and Bagley nurse Clift back to health, but his disfigurement sets Clift off on a self-destructive path of pills and booze, which leads to the break up of his love affair with Bagley. Through it all though, the one person who sticks by his side is his best friend, Taylor. All this leads up to one of the most emotional scenes ever filmed, the final time these two were ever-together right before Clift was found dead.
