Synopsis: John Stine is a lot of things. He’s a husband, father, lover, and friend. Oh yeah, he’s also dead. That’s why his dysfunctional family is getting together under the same roof after not seeing each other for over 8 years. Pot smoking matriarch, Julia Stine, is a woman more content at being passive and always seeks others approval. Her two children, Lucas and Victoria, show up the day before the funeral with fireworks in store. Victoria brings along her dim-witted husband, Dale. Julia has never been fond of Dale, but being the approval seeker that she is, keeps her mouth shut while her daughter complains about her life. Lucas is a wild child who doesn’t believe in settling down. He’s been in and out of jail and has come home to try and pull the ultimate con over on his own mother for his father’s life insurance money. Lucas’s high school sweet heart, Sarah, comes to pay her respects to the family and feelings begin to resurface for the two lovebirds. Just when it looks like the family will be able to get through this ordeal without a fight, all hell breaks loose the day of the funeral when John’s longtime mistress, a hooker with a loud mouth named Cinnamon, shows up. Faced with the reality that their husband/father wasn’t the great man they all thought he was leads the way to some explosive and hilarious family squabbles. Julia realizes that she needs to be more like Cinnamon in the outspoken department, but in one hilarious scene she may become a little too outspoken. Lucas realizes that nobody is ever perfect and the idea he had that he could never live up to his father’s image is shattered and he decides to pursue/stalk Sarah with comic results. Victoria realizes that she can do a lot better than Dale after her mother’s hilarious tirade about Dale and she decides to demand a divorce. When Dale says he won’t grant it to her, she decides to show him how much of a bitch she can be. Let’s just say you don’t want to eat the soup she makes him.
